Are You Good With Rubik’s Cubes?

In May 2005, the Greek Panagiotis Verdes constructed a 6×6×6 Rubik’s Cube. and on May 23 2006, Frank Morris, a world champion Rubik’s Cube solver, tested this version. He had previously solved the 3×3×3 in 15 seconds, the 4×4×4 in 1 minute and 10 seconds, and the 5×5×5 in 1 minute and 46.1 seconds. The 6×6×6 took him 5 minutes and 37 seconds to solve. Morris himself thanked the inventor for making it and purportedly stated that the bigger the Cube is, the greater the pleasure. In July 2006, Mr. Verdes successfully constructed the 7x7x7 cube, and on October 27 2006, a video of Frank Morris testing the cube was released. Morris solved the puzzle in 6 minutes and 29.31 seconds. Videos of these tests can be viewed at http://www.olympicube.com/.

In 1994, Melinda Green, Don Hatch, and Jay Berkenilt created a model of a 3×3×3×3 four-dimensional analogue of a Rubik’s Cube in Java, called the MagicCube4D. Having more possible states than there are atoms in the universe, only 55 people have solved it as of January 2007. In 2006, Roice Nelson and Charlie Nevill created a 3×3×3×3×3 five-dimensional model. As of January 2007, it has been solved by only 6 people.

Here is a good video of the 7×7.

Office Break

This printer sat around the office for a few months so we decided to just throw it off the roof. What else would you do with an old printer anyway?!?

Great Book Holder

If you read a lot then you will probably like this. It is called the Book Mate. And it holds your book open so you can hold it with one hand and the pages stay open. Its great for reading in the bed and I’ve been using it to read while I’m on the workout bike. I’m going to be ordering the II and III. I ordered the I along with the Book Light. And the best part of it is it is only they are only $10.50 for the regular paperback size. Click here to check out and order a Book Mate! Don’t worry, there are a bunch of colors other than the paisley one. I got just a solid black one.

Product
Instructions/Demonstration:

BookMate-I
and II

Step 1.
Unpack your
BookMate and hold it with the cover design down.

Step 2. Unsnap and pull back
the clear plastic strap.

Step 3. Slide
the back cover of your book into the flap on right side of your
BookMate.

NOTE: Do not put the front cover of your book through
the flap on the left side of your
Bookmate,
or you may crease it. Rather, use
the flap on the left side to hold a second book when traveling!

Step 4. Open
your book and position the clear plastic strap across the open
pages.

Step 5.
Secure the snap of the clear plastic strap to the front your
BookMate.
Use the button best suited to the size of your book.

Step 6. Your
book is now ready for hands-free reading in your
Bookmate.
Lay it in your lap or on a table, hold it with one hand, hold it
with both hands, prop it up on a Mini-Rest
or anything else handy, and enjoy not having to hold your book
open any longer!

Step 7. To
turn a page, simply flex your
BookMate, turn
a page with thumb and forefinger,
and allow the BookMate to snap back open.
DO NOT UNSNAP TO TURN PAGES!

NOTE: The above
illustrates another method of flexing your
BookMate
to turn a page. Simply flex your book almost closed, push
a page across with the thumb of your right hand, catch the
page’s edge with the thumb of your left hand and pull it across,
then allow your BookMate
to snap back into the open position. Use whichever method
you prefer… there’s no wrong way to use E-Z Flex page turning!

Step 8. When not reading, just put your book down – or let it drop as you
fall asleep. You will not lose your place! If you
are going somewhere, just mark your place with the built-in
bookmark.

For traveling, unsnap the clear plastic strap, fold
your
BookMate closed, wrap the clear plastic strap all the way
around your BookMate, and snap closed! Your
BookMate will
then protect your book from damage!

Also for traveling, the front
flap of your BookMate
provides a handy way to carry two average-sized books. Keeping your
first book in place with the back flap, slip the front cover of
your second book under your
BookMate’s
front flap.

Then, simply close your BookMate,
snap the strap closed, and you’re ready to travel, with your BookMate
protecting 2 books. Enjoy!

Getting in Shape

Well it is that time again when I tried to get on a workout routine to lose some weigh and get back into shade. Let’s see if I can keep it up this time. So far this week I’ve been waiting up early and going down to the gym at my apartment complex. So far I’m just riding the bike for 45 minutes and do some pushups and sit ups. I did buy a few things today that I’ll make myself use.

Everlast Multi Function Chinning Bar
Valeo Ab Straps
GoFit Workout Ball

King Kong

I saw King Kong last night with a group of friends. I figured it would be a good movie to see in the theatre with the effects and all. Little did I know it was a 3 HOUR movie. That would have been fine if it wasn’t long and dragged out. It could have been a 1 1/2 hour movie. The effects were really cool but even that wasn’t enough to keep me interested throughout the movie. Some things were just way unrealistic…yes I know it was a movie about a giant gorilla but other things can still be realistic. Like when Kong snatched the girl who is tied up, the rope just pops and she looks like a rag doll, that would have totally ripped her arms off. Then right after that, he started shaking her around in his hand for about 10 minutes of the movie…there went her neck but not in this movie. There’s parts where a few people are falling at least 50 feet down and get up like nothing happened. I would suggest waiting for the DVD to come out that way if you fall asleep, you can finish it later if you feel like. The only thing stopping me from going to sleep was that I didn’t want to be snoring in the middle of the theatre. Good thing is that I only paid $5 for the discount tickets.

Tinted the windows

I got my windows tinted yesterday. I think it looks much better with the dark tint. Click the pic for more pics.

Working Project Christmas Party

Olivier and I had our first anual Working Project Christmas Party. Instead of sending out cakes or something to our clients we thought it would be better to have a party where we could meet everyone. I think it turned out good and was pretty fun. We had it at Paymon’s Hookah Lounge. We maintain their website actually. You can see pictures from the party by clicking here.

Happy Birthday to me.

Oh boy, its my birthday. I think 27 sounds a lot older than 26. Next thing I know I’ll be 30. Time flies when you’re having fun I guess. I’m going out to a hibatchi dinner tonight with a few friend. Should be pretty fun…maybe some sake bombs!

New Format

My old site was a bit much and I wanted something simpler. So I found Word Press and installed it and seems to be working out perfectly.
